Background and Coaching Philosophy:
I have been coaching cyclists since 1997, and in 1999 I established Kadlick Coaching Services, a coaching and
consulting business dedicated to improving the performance of cyclists in the Northeast. In 2004 I joined with
Peaks Coaching Group in order to more actively promote cycling as a safe, healthy, and effective mode of
transportation, recreation, and sport.
I take a comprehensive and detailed approach to helping you achieve your goals. By analyzing your current level
of fitness, helping you set goals and implementing your personalized training program. Through technology and
communication, I will help you challenge yourself to higher levels of fitness that will yield better results.
As a coach I feel it is my responsibility to help you exceed your limits and perform at a higher level than
you ever thought possible.
I started out in the fitness field as a personal trainer in 1993. I always enjoyed working with athletes and
loved cycling. In 1998, I designed a cycling specific weight-training program, which lasted 20 weeks over the
New England winter. What started as a program with 6 cyclists quickly became so popular that it now requires
a wait list. The class was designed to make improvements in the overall strength, flexibility, core strength
and power of the athletes. This was done with a periodization that incorporated weight lifting, plyometrics,
core exercises and some yoga.
I am the Vice President of The Minuteman Road Club. MRC is located in the Metro West region of Massachusetts.
I am also the Woman’s director of MRC and have been working to build the women’s cycling program in New England.
MRC are the promoters of several NE classic road races and multi-sport events. The Sterling Classic which is in it’s
tenth year and The Fitchburg Longsjo Classic Stage Race.
If cycling is a passion, then coaching is the solution. Every cyclist knows that successful riding and competition
are the results of dedication, discipline, and demanding the most of body and mind. Coaching takes the guesswork
out of the process. Let me help you get the most out of this journey!
Client Testimonials:
I raced mountain bikes at the Expert level for several years before I decided to return to school to finish
my degree. While attending school, I wasn’t able to ride for more than two years. When I was ready to race
again I found that I had absolutely no fitness. I had just turned 31 and my body reminded me that I wasn’t a
kid anymore. I also realized that riding as hard as you can whenever you can doesn’t help regain the fitness
one once had.
Now, I race mountain bikes in the Semi-Pro class for the Landry’s MTB Team, I recently earned my Cat 3 license
on the road and I’m consistently placing well in all my races. Heck, I race against kids half my age and sometimes
I even win! A few years ago I would have never believed I would be racing this well in my mid-30’s.
My coach, Margaret Kadlick, has played a large role in not only my return to fitness but also in achieving a
new competitive level in both on and off-road cycling. As a coach she’s been a motivator, an advocate, an
organizer, and sometimes most importantly, an objective voice of reason, telling me when to go hard and when
to rest.
I don’t think I would have ever achieved Semi-Pro status as a 34 year old and my Cat 3 license a year
later with out her coaching. I needed, and need, someone to push me with my training and stop me when I need
to rest. Thankfully, Margaret has been there for me for that last 5 years to do just that!

Margaret is a fantastic coach because her interpersonal skills are exceptional. I am not an easy guy to motivate.
Some how, some way she finds a way to get me going even when training is the furthest thing from my mind.
When I first started I did not have a plan, I was just hacking around trying to race but not understanding how
to prepare or be competitive. So without much success I was quickly falling away from the racing scene. Margaret
saw what was happening and took me under her wing. Soon I was placing and wining the local Sunday crit races at
Wells Ave. in my category. In most of my cat 5 races I was in the top 20 and it did not take me long to upgrade.
Margaret has a very focused and complete program for cyclists including; off season training, nutrition, overall
health and well being. I find her approach very natural and highly tuned to my personal physiology. When my results
are less than optimal she will adjust and tweak my training to get me back on line.
There are so many things that can influence our performance; Margaret always digs in to find out what’s going on.
Her interest and passion for cycling has kept me going even during difficult times. She believes I have the potential
to succeed even when I don’t. This part of my training is not written down or quantifiable but it is what I need
from my coach besides all the workouts, intervals, race preparation etc. I feel her commitment to me is not
fabricated or contrived, it is real. That is way I am proud and honored to call her my Coach.
There are many ways to train and get results but there few coaches that can understand the individual as an
individual and extract from them their full potential. Margaret Kadlick is one of those coaches.
We all can read training books and talk to our seasoned club racers but that does not guarantee we will get results.
Without a personal coach you can be easily mislead, unintentionally. Margaret is objective, sensitive, intelligent,
well read and trained in the physiology and psychology of cycling. You will be impressed, I was and still am.
