Background and Coaching Philosophy:

I have been involved in cycling all of my life. I began in the early years racing BMX and hanging out at the local shops. By 14 I was working in the shops selling BMX bikes that were my passion. At 17 I bought my first road bike and just loved to ride and see how far I could go. Some days I would even call in sick and sneak out to ride. I raced a few times on and off, but mainly just enjoyed riding until 1985 when I was introduced to my first mountain bike. I began riding, and before long, I tried my hand at racing and found my true love. I have now been a member of NORBA (now Cycling USA) since 1992 and have now been racing for 17 year in Texas where I hold a Category 1 license and compete in the 40-49 class.

I have seen many changes in cycling throughout the years. I bought one of the first Polar heart rate monitors, then a Compu-Trainer, and now train completely with power. I have been a big fan of Hunter Allen and power training since finding out about the original CyclingPeaks Software for the Compu-Trainer and have used every version of the software including the newest WKO+. I strongly believe if you are serious about training you need to train with power. Whether you are a Beginner or a Pro it gives you insight in to your training and course management, which is priceless.

I have coached many Beginner and Sport riders over the years helping them move up through the ranks. I have also worked with several recreational road riders and racers, helping them excel, and know I can help you too. Whether you ride on the road, off-road, race or just want to get in shape, I can help you get to the next level with my personal hands on experience.

Today in my professional life as VP of Sales at one of the largest art galleries in the country Gremillion & Co. Fine Art, Inc., in Houston, Texas, I fully understand the balance between training and family, as well as other life passions. I believe cycling is one of the greatest ways to stay in shape because you can participate in it all of your life and most of its training principals can be applied to your family and professional life. If you feel ready to make a move I can provide the training advice and the support you need to propel you forward.

When not training and racing bikes I love to cook, have a great glass of wine, or drive my Porsche on a tight twisty country road, with my bike on top of course. In addition I support charity: water raising money to help provide clean water to people around the world that do not have excess to it.
