I've always been a huge proponent of the old adage “work smarter, not harder,” which in the world of cycling easily translates to “train smarter, not harder.” When I bought a power meter a few years ago, it was love at first beep. Okay, just kidding, but as an engineering graduate from Georgia Tech, I do have to admit that the scientific and analytical factors of training with power fascinate me. I attended a Peaks Coaching Group camp in the fall of 2010 to gain further experience analyzing and interpreting power files, and I've used my knowledge to develop both general and race-specific training plans for myself and for my teammates. I love working with each individual athlete, considering all the factors that affect his/her training, and putting together a realistic training plan that produces real results.
Training with power takes the guesswork out of training, and I can help you take the guesswork out of understanding and utilizing your power files so you can reach your goals.
Ben always provides a level of coaching that feels like it's a level or two above what I deserve and pay for. He doesn't just stand on the sidelines; he actively practices what he coaches and puts more into it than I as an athlete am often times able to reciprocate with my effort, which further motivates me to double my efforts. - J.D., New Jersey
I had NO idea what REAL training was till I started with Ben. I bought several books but never reached this level. Coach Ben is allowing me to go further than I would have ever thought. - Driss, Georgia
