General Camp Information:
Lodging & Accommodations:
You will be staying at different locations throughout the country, including some of the most picturesque areas of Iceland.
Flights directly to Reykjavik (Keflavik airport) depart daily from multiple locations in the US. Check out www.icelandair.com for details. It’s an easy flight and Iceland Air is refreshingly upscale with excellent service. We will pick you up at the airport. Just let us know your flight schedule.
Check-in for the camp begins at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday June 9
at the Hotel Jazz, Keflavik, Iceland. http://www.hoteljazz.is/ Please make arrangements to arrive at the airport sometime before 6pm on Saturday June 9th.
Camp ends on Friday June 15th. We’ll have you back in either Reykjavik by 1pm and you can decide what you’d like to do from there. Hang out in Reykjavik for a day and see the sights? Maybe you’d like to rent a car and travel around a little more? It’s up to you! We suggest you rent a car (we will help you arrange and get you a special rate), spend the day in Reykjavik and then head out for a little adventure to some of the sights we didn’t see.
If you want to fly home on the 16th of June, we’ll make sure you arrive at the Keflavik airport in time!

We’ll have some great meals for you each day, including plenty of Icelandic seafood. We even will have our own 5-star chef with us for many of the days (he’s a darn good cyclist too!). Let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.
Our daily routes traverse much of the southern area of Iceland. We’ll ride around the Grindavik area to see some of the classic lava fields of Iceland, then we’ll head a little north to the beautiful Hvalfjordur fjord where you’ll get some climbing in and want to stop every 2 miles to take photos. We’ll begin our trek east as we ride on some quiet roads getting closer and closer to the Skaftafell Glacier, stopping at some beautiful waterfalls along the way. We’ll ride onward to our secret location at the “beginning of the world” and then make our trek back west with our Midnight Sun ride beginning at 11pm and riding through the midnight hour! We will perform optional power tests and teach on-road skills throughout the week, to include various forms of rotating pace lines, corners, staying upright in surprising conditions, and much more!
While your days will be action-packed with breakfast, riding, and evening dinners, we have planned some great locations to visit and explore. Each day, we will be visiting a special location along with our great riding and make sure you have time to relax as well. There will be plenty for non-riding spouses to do each day and we’d love to have them along.
Weather in Iceland is highly varied. In the summer, it is usually in the 60-70’s and almost never reaches 80. It could be cool in the 50-60’s as well and make sure you are prepared for a rain shower or two.
For those traveling by air you can either choose to take with you in your travels (our recommendation) or we can arrange a nice fast and light rental bike for you (additional cost). Our support team will assemble all bikes and be onsite to support those that are traveling with their bike.
