All my life I’ve been a runner. After taking a break to start a career as a firefighter and a family, I returned to running, and made the move to triathlon. Soon, however, I found myself getting asked to help others achieve their goals in endurance sports, where I found a passion for helping others reach their goals and go beyond what they thought was possible.
I coach by power primarily, but I use the information provided by heart rate to keep athletes well-tuned in training and to help athletes perform to their potential on race day. I stay current on best practices in endurance coaching and I lead by example – I don’t ask athletes to do workouts I haven’t done or wouldn’t be willing to do. It’s important to remember that in the end, endurance sports isn't the whole of our lives, and we all need to keep that into perspective. But for sure, we will have fun and create many lasting memories.
