Join Hunter Allen, Scott Moninger and Peaks Coaching Group for the second annual High Altitude “Iron Horse” Power Training Cycling Camp in beautiful Durango, Colorado. This cycling camp offers cyclists the ability to jump start their summer season with some exciting high altitude training and premier coaching from the guy who wrote the book on Power Training, Hunter Allen.  Durango is the secret training grounds of the road cycling pros blending sunny desert riding through the Animas River Valley with the challenging high altitude routes of the majestic San Juan Mountains. Durango is located at 6,500 feet above sea level and features area peaks rising over 14,000 feet with scenery that will take your breath away, with alpine forests, aspen groves and dramatic red cliffs.  One of our cycling training days will be “racing” the historic Durango and Silverton Steam Engine up the mountain pass, following the route that the Iron Horse Classic rides!



Daily Cycling Camp Activities and Provisions:
  • Daily Cycling Power Training Seminars with Hunter Allen and select Peaks Coaching Group coaches.
  • Daily rides with Hunter and the team featuring on the road coaching and key training drills that will boost your spring training.
  • Daily cycling power files reviews and analysis with the “the man who wrote the book on power training”; Hunter Allen and the Peaks Coaching Group.
  • Full mechanical support from certified mechanics, this includes full bike assembly, daily cleaning and lubrication and all minor repair services.
  • Full “on the road support” – Ride like a professional!  Our support team will be there to fully support your on the road experience just like you were a pro.
  • Advanced Training Techniques and WKO Utilization methods that will improve your results either through power or heart rate training.
  • Evening  video reviews and power presentations from Hunter and the team

 Cycling Camp Includes:

  • Daily ride food supplied by Honey Stinger - waffles, gels, bars and chews
  • Daily ride energy drinks and recovery shakes
  • Post ride yoga sessions by “cycling yoga guru” Hunter Allen
  • Massages available upon request (one free per attendee)
  • Lunches on the road
  • Evening  meals at local restaurants

 

Cost:  $1995 Double Occupancy, single occupancy upgrade $495.00
Day Cycling Campers welcome: $175.00 per day

 

Deposit / Registration / Final Payment:
A $500 deposit is due at time of registration ($100 deposit for single day attendee). This deposit is non-refundable and non-applicable to other services. You will be issued a final invoice 28 days before the commencement of your cycling camp; final payment is due 21 days before the commencement of your cycling camp and all such payments are final, non-refundable and non-applicable.

The Peaks Coaching Group recommends travel insurance in case of emergency cancellation.

 

 




Arrival / Departure:
Checking in begins at 3:00pm May 13th.  Please make arrangements to arrive between 3:00pm & 5:00pm when possible to facilitate the check in process.

For those traveling via air, please book travel into Durango-La Plata County Airport.  Peaks Coaching Group will be running complimentary shuttles to and from the airport on (first day & last day).  Please supply us with your travel schedule as soon as your travel is confirmed so we can coordinate pick up and drop off.

 

 

Bike Transportation:
For those traveling by air you can either chose to ship your bike in advance or take with you in your travels.  Our support team will assemble all shipped bikes in advance and be onsite to support those that are traveling with their bike.

The Historic Strater Hotel will be our home for the week.  Steeped in history as Durango’s most prominent landmark, the Strater delivers world class accommodations and hospitality.  Conveniently located in downtown Durango, allowing campers to explore this interesting cycling friendly town during free time.  Hotel offers free high speed internet, breakfast buffet, and easy access to downtown Durango.
