Four years ago, I was browsing the Internet in search of a biking coach. I happened on Hunter‘s name, emailed him -- and so began a most excellent adventure. I found an article about a 300-mile, 3-day mountain bike race in Costa Rica and decided I was going to buy a bike and learn mountain biking. At 49, I hoped I would find someone willing to take me from the very beginning to Costa Rica. In my first season, Hunter took me from riding in running shoes to clip less, from first time racer to first place Masters Sport Division. The following season I moved up to the Expert Division, but because of life‘s unexpected circumstances, I had to give up my dream.
In May of 2002, I emailed Hunter and asked him if he would take me back if I promised him six months of very hard work and a trip to Costa Rica. We worked very hard, very intense those six months. Hunter‘s coaching expertise got me through the toughest mountain bike race on the planet. This was the first race I had ever lined up for that I felt totally confident that I was prepared for. It was a cruelly three days. I paid Hunter to get me through this race and he did his job very well, but there are things you can‘t put a price on and things you wouldn‘t want to -- this was one of them.
The journey to Costa Rica was not an easy one -- the hours, the dedication, the training, the tears, the joy -- it was a journey I will never forget. Hunter is an amazing-gifted athlete, coach and person and he gives all three people to you as a client. He is dedicated to what he does and loves doing it. He gives you such a sense of confidence; it carries you to wherever you want to go. If you are in search of the best -- you have found him --
Hunter Allen extraordinaire.
