" Want to up your cycling skills???

Learn how to confidently ride in a group,  how to countersteer, how to turn around without putting a foot down, how to ride in a paceline and take home these skills so you can practice. "

It's often stated by attendees at PCG Clinics that the "brochure" can't even come close to describing the value that is attained.  But let's try anyway!

You start the day with a classroom session where we go over the basics of bike handling, including proper cornering using "counter-steering", hard braking, avoidance drills, balance techniques and pacelining.   After class, we head out to our parking lot to learn all of these essential skills. Taught and coached throughout the day, you'll learn the difference between safe cornering, how to lean your bike, where to put the weight on the pedals and how to confidentally handle your bicycle in any situation.   We head to a "grassy spot" for some safe drills in the grass to help you understand how to safely lean on each other while riding.

With less than 20 riders per day, you are assured plenty of personal attention as you improve your skills.   If you struggle with one or another, we'll ensure you get all the coaching needed so you can improve.

Just before lunch, you'll be introduced to pacelining and we'll do a few practice sessions.

After lunch, we have a short classroom session again to discuss the afternoon agenda which includes pacelining, out of the saddle sprinting, learning how to "rock" your bike back and forth and finally, we'll ride together as a group and put all of your new found skills to good use.

The goal of this 1-day skills clinic is to focus on improving your ride skills and techniques so that you leave a faster, smoother and more confident cyclist!

“Just wanted to let you know that I competed in the USAT Draft Legal Sprint yesterday and finished on the podium in second by only 36 seconds. It was so much fun. I hooked up with some girls who asked me to draft with them so I did,,, as it turns out I knew more about drafting than either of them did so it worked, we helped each other and boy did my legs enjoy the brief 30s relief when not pulling. It was amazing!!... and of course I would not have been able to draft or climb without the expert assistance Lee and Hunter provided for me last summer at camp and at all those weeks of 4 hour sessions cycling, learning how to draft, climb and the other necessary cycling skills to effectively ride and race my bike!! Additionally, it was a very technical course consisting of of three 4 mile loops that each had two 180 turns and eight 90 degree turns, many falling after a fast descent from the hills. Got to use all skills on this course, and had fun with the counter movement on all the turns also!! So thank you all for all your expert training, so much appreciated!! Looking forward to coming there again soon and definitely for the skills camp in the spring....
Take care,

“Signing up for this camp took a great deal of personal growth and mental toughness. I am so glad that I pushed myself outside of my comfort zone. Hands down, this was one of the best experiences in my athletic and personal life. Words can’t express the professionalism, knowledge, and support PCG delivered. I recommend PCG 100% for those who want to build confidence on their bike and strength on their rides! Hunter Allen thank you and your staff: Lee Sandstead, Shirleyann and the SAG vehicle. And a special thanks to my unconditionally supportive hubby Christopher for this awesome birthday present! 🚴🏻‍♀️💪🏻😊 "

“The brochure can't even begin to describe the value of these camps.  Hunter starts talking and instructing when we first arrive and doesn't stop until everyone leaves.  I thought there would be much more down time like other camps--but thankfully there is not as long as Hunter is talking!”

Founder and Owner

Legendary cycling coach, co-author of Training and Racing with a Power Meter and Cutting-Edge Cycling, co-developer of TrainingPeaks, WKO+ software, and founder of Peaks Coaching Group.

Widely known as one of the top experts in the world in coaching endurance athletes using power meters, Hunter Allen's goal has always been to teach athletes how to maximize their training and racing potential through professional analysis of their power data. This goes hand in hand with his philosophy that a power meter helps athletes discover their true strengths and weaknesses, quantitatively assess their training improvements, and refine and maximize the focus of their training.

As a coach, Hunter makes sure to look at each athlete as a whole person. He excels at designing custom programs designed to maximize each rider's potential. He believes we are human beings working closely with other human beings, and it's important to him to work hard to find your strengths and weaknesses and to help you improve your skills, then develop a realistic plan that works for life. It is important that a coach learn as much as he can about you as an athlete and as a person in order to better develop a plan for success. He has now coached over 400 athletes and still learns something new from each one.

Coaching Philosophy – Passion driven – Experience Forged

I want to bring applicable skills and experience to anyone, regardless of age or experience level to create confidence, enjoyment, and a healthier lifestyle. While I use a power meter, HRM, and plans for my own riding, my focus is not on the technology; it’s on the skills needed to allow you to focus on the tech (if you use it) and not fear the road. If you can’t safely avoid obstacles, ride in a group, or grab a bottle while you pedal, I’m your guy! We will identify the specific set of practice steps you can take to gain confidence. And confidence brings your competitive spirit out!

Bring me a kid who wants to start BMX racing, learn how to ride a bike or an adult whose never been on a bike. My engagement with each rider will be tailored to their specific problem areas and their outlook of where they see the bicycle taking them.
