I have been a USA Cycling Level 2 and USA Cycling Power Certified trained coach with Peaks Coaching Group since 2008. Before joining Peaks, I was a nationally-ranked cyclist and recipient of numerous cycling awards. I was also a certified personal fitness trainer. Anyone who has trained or worked with me will quickly recognize my dedication to my teammates, colleagues, athletes, and my love of the sport of cycling. My coaching strategies are aimed at getting athletes ready to physically and psychologically overcome training obstacles, address weaknesses, and optimize their capabilities. I have successfully coached cyclists to help them develop their strengths, improve speed and endurance, and accomplish their racing goals.
In addition, I've been a member of the Somerset Wheelmen since 2004. During that time I have won several awards individually and with my team, including the 2005 NJBA's Masters 35+ TT Cup.
I believe that while cycling is a team sport, you race as an individual. That, along with the constant focus on improving and gain strength, speed and fitness, is what keeps me riding. I have now reached the point in my cycling career where I want to share my knowledge and pass on my love of the sport by coaching other riders who are looking to improve. I'm eager to work with you to develop your strengths and achieve your goals through a carefully designed program that will prepare you psychologically and emotionally to tackle any challenge.
Bill is great with the training plans and workouts, but he is also very helpful with fueling and nutrition guidance. And equipment selection. I truly enjoy working with Bill. He has been great at explaining the training program and how each element supports the next. Also, he modifies my training workouts when work gets in the way of training. - Glenn, Minnesota
Working with Bill has been fantastic. He's been supportive, knowledgeable, and has helped me improve significantly. He knows the local racing scene and also balances this with the right blend of hard training, and rest/recovery for peak performance. Has been a great 5 years. - Chuck, New Jersey
I've been extremely happy with Bill. The proof will be in the results, I suppose, but what limited outdoor time I've had has me going faster with less perceived effort than ever before. When I was sick as a dog a week ago, Bill did a quick re-factor of my workouts to compensate and it seems perfectly on point. I wish I had contracted a coach 10 years ago when I had the time to be truly fast but wasted it with junk miles and haphazard "training." - Michael, New Jersey
I loved the presentation and the "road map" you provided on how I'm going to tackle my challenges! I can tell you that CTS NEVER gave me anywhere near the detail you did and I doubt they spent as much time in 3-4 years as you have in just a couple of weeks. I feel great on what we're doing. I really feel like I'm part of a team to help me reach my goals. I couldn't be happier!! - Barry, North Carolina
Bill has done a great job working with me. I was thinking about quitting racing when I started working with him because I didn't think I really had the ability to hang, let alone excel. Quickly Bill turned things around for me. He was that outside eye that could look at my training and see what I needed to be successful. - Nick, Missouri
I started working with Bill two years ago. I was a competitive cyclist, already in a decent shape, but I wanted to improve further. Bill's coaching increased my power at every duration, raised my FTP more than 30 watts, and gave me the form to win many races, including the National Championship. Bill was always available and with his scientific approach to training with power offered me the opportunity to pursuit my dreams. Results speak for themselves!
